About
“We repeat what we don’t repair.”
I received a Bachelor of Science from Lesley University and a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Smith College School of Social Work in 1988. I began my early training working in adolescent residential treatment programs at the Justice Resource Institute and was co-coordinator of the crisis team at Boston Regional Medical Center. I then worked as a therapist treating individuals for many years at Psychotherapy Associates of North Reading before starting my private practice in 2007. My current focus is treating individuals who are seeking relief from depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and generalized unhappiness.
In addition to working with my private therapy clients, I co-present with Dr. Jonice Webb, National Bestselling Author of Running on Empty, on issues related to Childhood Emotional Neglect on the East and West coast.
I am dedicated to ongoing learning and growth and participate in extensive continuing education and training opportunities. These include group supervisions and trainings with Dr. Martha Stark, as well as presenting a case at the National Psychoanalytic Conference in February 2019 with distinguished psychotherapist Dr. Otto Kernberg as the discussant. I am a member of National Association of Social Workers and the North Shore Private Practice Colloquium.
I have enjoyed collaborating with Joyce about clinical issues, shared patients and speaking engagements because she is a well-trained, skilled and caring psychotherapist. She provides in-depth therapy and engages patients and colleagues with her warmth, empathy and keen understanding. Because of my confidence in her clinical skills, I highly recommend her to people seeking insight-oriented psychotherapy.
